Most people who have an iphone have come across the dilemma of the batteries running out too quickly, or not lasting a full day. Apple iphones do not include a removable battery, making it impossible to have a spare one in case the charge runs out. The portable iPWR backup battery made by Eznex is the perfect solution to this problem, and not only works well, but looks smart at the same time.

The iPWR backup battery is the perfect solution for those of you who need the extra battery life but do not have access to a plug hole, or do not have the time to put the iphone on charge. This backup is unique in the sense that there is no need to remove the protective case to use it, and it can be charged by micro USB. It is compatible with 3G, 2G, pod Nano, ipod Touch, ipod Classic and Shuffle, and lasts much longer than many of its competitors.

Aside from that, the price for the new sets seems to have gone into a sort of a freefall, with the rumor mill going into overtime with suggestions of a $100 drop all the way to the new phones being offered as freebies to all and sundry.

Now that is some good news, isn’t it? Here is the bad news, again this is based on the grist from the rumor mill but the chances of this being true are actually quite good. To start off with, Apple is tying up with a mobile provider in each and every country. Basically, as a mobile user, you will find your phone locked up should you try to change mobile service provider. In addition, certain features of the new Apple 3G can be accessed only if a certain mobile plan is subscribed to. Economically, this does make sense especially with a certain price drop being hinted in the news. With a price drop, Apple naturally would like to make up for that lost revenue by forcing us, mobile users to opt for a higher service plan, just so that they can fill the kitty. Personally, I think that the latest bites from Apple corp are a bit unfair, since they are not providing us access to all the features of the new 3G and what is more, they are actually forcing us to subscribe to a certain mobile plan. I hope that the rumors are just rumors and that there is not an iota of truth in them.

But with Apple, it is often the rumors that have more relevance than the truth themselves. Either way, I am looking forward to this launch and hope that the Apple bite is not deep!

Bharati Airtel has announced that it will be launching the new Apple 3G phones out in India and that these sets will be available for purchase in any Airtel customer center. Well, now the cat is almost out of the bag, not just for India but for the rest of Asia as well. The Apple 3G phones are eagerly awaited in Asia as it offers a cheaper take on blackberry without all the huge expense associated with blackberry phones.

The Indian middle class, the versatile consumer playground, has welcomed all the earlier Apple products with open arms and going by reactions posted to this particular announcement, the trend is set to continue for this product as well. What makes this product outstanding is that in addition to offering a cheaper alternative to Blackberry, Apple 3G offers additional advantages, like the option to talk while surfing. That is, with the Apple 3G, you can chat while chatting – sounds a bit confusing does it not? Basically, you can use the phone to hold a verbal conversation while surfing the net at the same time.

These days, if you walk into a net café anywhere in India or the rest of Asia, you are bound to come across a person or two talking on the mobile while surfing the net. Apple has taken note of this and has managed to incorporate this feature into the latest 3G products. The launch date is still being kept very hush-hush, but going by the speed with which Airtel is moving, one can expect the 3G to come around knocking any time soon. The price tag is still a bit of a mystery but since the lesser price tag is one of the major attractions to this product, you can expect it to be a lot less when compared with the blackberry, at the very least.

The fact that Apple is thinking of extending its market base speaks volumes as to their confidence with relation to the Apple Iphone.

The announcement is along all the expected lines as the rumors of the Apple revolution in the works has already hit the Island shores of Hongkong quite a while back. Now with this announcement, with no dates being announced, many are left hanging as to when the ‘launch’ will take place. And one is left in the dark as to whether it is the new generation that is going to be marketed here in Asia or the old model. With rumors flying fast and thick, all that one can do is to literally twiddle one’s thumbs and wait for the launch to take place.

With Apple already planning to notch up the sales upwards of 10 million units by the year end, most of these sales should come from the Asian continent, seeing that nearly half of the world’s populace resides here. The new avatars of the Iphone is already available in most of the developed parts of the world with the United states leading the pack in maximum usage. It is only a matter of time before the rest of the world catches up, not just in usage terms but also in the availability of the latest version of the Apple iPhone.

Hutchinson is the perfect company for Apple to partner with in order to launch its series of Phones in Asia, seeing that Hutchinson has already quite a base all across this part of the world. Hutchinson provides a multitude of services from Indonesia, Sri Lanka and all the way to India.

More next-gen iPhone tidbits today, with latest rumor on the block being from ‘industry sources’ who believe Apple will release two versions of the 3G iPhone at WWDC 2008, one with 8GB of storage and priced at $399 and another with 16GB priced at $499. According to TG Daily, it’s possible that a 32GB version could be introduced, with a $599 price point, but they couldn’t get that confirmed via their sources.

As for the devices themselves, apparently the 3G iPhone will be around 2.5mm thinner than the existing model, and have some minor case revisions that help stop the handset looking “plasticky”. Neither the GUI or software will be changed – although Firmware 2.0 will obviously be preinstalled, as the most recent Apple mobile OS – but the accelerometer has been “tuned”. The device still uses a non-removable battery.

Elsewhere in Apple’s range, TG Daily suggest that Apple are pricing the iPod Touch in parallel with the iPhone, the differentiating factor being that the PMP will have twice the memory of its cellphone counterpart.
