Though just six months old, the Apple iPhone is emerging as a major driver of mobile Web consumption, while traditional smartphone users remain focused primarily on e-mail and messaging.

According to the M:Metrics January Benchmark Survey released this week, 85 percent of iPhone users accessed online information that month, compared with 58.2 percent of the wider smartphone market.

Additionally, nearly 60 percent of iPhone users conducted online searches, with just 37 percent of smartphone users accessing Web search.

While demographics of the two user groups are very similar, it’s clear that iPhone owners want online entertainment and social engagement while users of the BlackBerry and other smartphones don’t share the same interests.

If for whatever reason you wish to know what version your iPhone is but are not really sure, just read this and it will provide you with some quick help.

1) Press the Home button
2) Then press the Settings button
3) Now press General
4) Now go to About
5) Look for “Version:” after that, it will have a bit of text, but we are only interested in the first 3 numbers, it will say something like 1.1.2, 1.1.3. If yours says 1.1.2 you have firmware, same deal with if it says 1.1.3 or something else.

Enjoy!

Apple and Nike have released the next update of the Nike+ rollout. Right now, Nike+ lets your iPod virtually talk to your shoes, but in the future your iPod will be able to talk to loads more things, such as: Stationary Bikes, Treadmills and other gym equipment.

Apple and Nike are apparantly also talking with gym equipment manufactures to include Nike+ functionality so their use can be tracked and recorded without the need to excessively modify the machine. It’s pretty simple to, when you start you plug your iPod into the machine and it will record everything you do so that you can upload and view it at a later time, and then you put it on the Nike+ site via iTunes.

Sure, it may seem a little geeky at first, but theres lots of positive feedback about Nike+ saying it does actually help with your fitness, give it a try!

Have fun watching this video, I think you’ll be please with the results.
