iPhone could breach Australian law
Australian IT have published a news article about the iPhone and Australia. According to some Queensland law researchers there may be even more of a delay getting the iPhone into Australia while this hiccup. Below are some snippets from the AIT article;
“The legal hiccup could delay the arrival of the must-have gadget phone, which is expected in Asia and Australia some time this year.
However, some are concerned that the phone’s exclusivity deals with mobile carriers is anti-competitive. ”
“Ideally I’d like to see a version of the iPhone released in Australia that’s not locked to any carriers at all, although that doesn’t seem likely based on what’s happened in the past.”
Apple Australia was contacted but declined to comment.
