16 Mar.
Posted by admin in iPhone News | 5 Comments

According to the iPhone Dev Team some new tools are been built which will eventually allow developers to bypass Apple’s restrictions on what applications can be released with their SDK.

According to the team, users are able to ‘Pwn’ their iPhone via an exploit found in lower level iPhones and iPod Touch’s, the exploit allows unsigned code to be run on the machines. Once your iPhone has been ‘pwned’ you will be able to install custom files easily.

Sounds interesting? We agree, if you want to you can read more technical details from the link below.

Posted by admin in Apple | No Comments

Apple Inc. was sued Wednesday regarding the iTunes music store, and iPod music players which are apparently using patented method for distributing media around the internet.

Zap Media (The company suing) wants royalties on Apple’s saled of iPods, and iTunes music, which reached a massive 11 billion dollars last year.

The patents in question cover a way of sending music/digital content from servers to multi-media players (iPods).

Zap Media applied for the patents back in 1999, the first one was granted in March 2006, and the second one on Tuesday.

Robert Frohwein, ZapMedia’s general counsel, had this to say in a statement,
“When someone takes our vision and our intellectual property without a license after several attempts, we have no option but to protect it through every means available to us.”

An Apple spokesman has said the company does not wish to discuss pending lawsuits.

On Monday, Gameloft announced it will produce and create no less then 15 new game titles for the iPhone this year, Gameloft is now the fourth major game developer to announce the iPhone as a gaming platform.

Sun bring Java to the iPhone via the SDK

10 Mar.
Posted by admin in iPhone News | 4 Comments

iPhone complaints
Apple have said they won’t be giving Sun the opportunity to put Java on the iPhone for Java apps, BUT with the Apple SDK coming out Sun have decided to take things into their own hands. They will be making a Java Virtual Machine for the device that will allow java applets to be run on it. We’re pretty sure at least a few decent applications will come out of this, we’ll just have to wait and hope. Gonna be interesting to see how Apple will handle Sun sneaking Java onto the iPhone with this method.

A touch of death about the iPhone Touchscreen?

10 Mar.
Posted by admin in iPhone News | No Comments

Just recently, a whole lot of complaints regarding the iPhones touchscreen not working have been made, read more below..

iPhone complaints

Apple was today monitoring the latest mini-crisis to hit its much-hyped iPhone after some users began reporting that the touchscreen did not work. Threads on several Apple forums including the company’s own have been devoted to the problem, which causes parts of the device’s screen to go ‘dead’ and stop responding to the touch of a finger.

Typically the dead spot is a strip about half an inch wide that runs the width of the iPhone’s screen as it is held vertically, users experiencing the problem said.

In one case, the strip ran across the Unlock button, which meant that the user was unable to answer the phone when it rang.

“On the main screen, I can’t hit the button for clock, calculator, notes of settings,” ‘Gwas’, a user of the Apple-dedicated site Mac Rumors, wrote. “For text messages, I can’t hit the send button. On the phone keypad I can’t hit the 7, 8, or 9 keys.”

Another complainant wrote: “Now like 1/4 of the screen starting from the bottom doesn’t work.”

Unlimited Calling Plan

10 Mar.
Posted by admin in iPhone News | No Comments

It was something lots of people have been asking for, and AT&T have delievered just that, an “unlimited” call plan. Thats right, an unlimited plan, it costs $119.99 per month, perfect if you love to call people, or if your a business person on the phone all the time.

Although, with this plan you still only get 200 sms text messages, which is something you’ll need to get a very close eye on. At least you won’t need to cut a call short because your afraid of over-charging your account, but you will need to be very careful with those sms messages, due to the prices of them heading upward constantly.
