Hey guys,

Just letting you know we have finished upgrading to Wordpress 2.5, this doesn’t really mean much in terms of how you see the site, it’s mainly updated features for the ACP by the looks of it.

During the upgrade we had about 5 minutes downtime because I deleted a file I wasn’t meant to however all is fixed now.

Enjoy.

Wolfson loses Apple iPod Contract

29 Mar.
Posted by admin in iPod & iPodTouch | No Comments

Wolfson Microelectronics, the Edinburgh microchip designer, has suffered a significant setback after losing its contract to supply components for the Apple iPod Touch and iPod Nano.

Failure to renew the deal, which analysts believe accounts for at least 15 per cent of Wolfson’s revenue, led to the Scottish group’s share price dropping by a third in early trading yesterday. Wolfson will continue to provide audio chips for Apple’s iPhone.

Its shares tumbled by as much as 30 per cent to a three-and-a-half-year low of 99p, recovering to 116p by the close, down 26p on the day.

Apple’s withdrawal is the latest blow in a year that has seen Wolfson’s shares fall by almost two thirds. They hit a record high of 560p in June 2006.

The company was considered the bright spark of the UK technology sector when it floated in October 2003, with contracts to supply parts for devices such as the X-Box, Tom-Tom satellite navigation systems and Samsung handsets.

iPod Reset Utility 1.0.3 Out

28 Mar.
Posted by admin in iPod & iPodTouch | No Comments

Apple has released iPod Reset Utility 1.0.3 which is an updated version of the tool that is used to reset iPhone shuffles to their original condition, it’s available via download on Apple.com.

The reset utility can restore first and second generation iPods back to their factory condition, this is good if for some reason iTunes no longer detects your iPod, it does however wipe all the data off your iPod which kinda sucks but ah well. It’s designed to work only on the first and generation iPod shuffles.

Once it has been reset, software version 1.0.4 or 1.0.5 (depending on the generation of your ipod) will be installed onto your iPod and you’ll be good to go again.
