iPhone could breach Australian law

26 Feb.
Posted by admin in iPhone News | No Comments

Australian IT have published a news article about the iPhone and Australia. According to some Queensland law researchers there may be even more of a delay getting the iPhone into Australia while this hiccup. Below are some snippets from the AIT article;

“The legal hiccup could delay the arrival of the must-have gadget phone, which is expected in Asia and Australia some time this year.
However, some are concerned that the phone’s exclusivity deals with mobile carriers is anti-competitive. ”

“Ideally I’d like to see a version of the iPhone released in Australia that’s not locked to any carriers at all, although that doesn’t seem likely based on what’s happened in the past.”

Apple Australia was contacted but declined to comment.

Yahoo! have now got a mobile section of their website, it allows users to have certain tools of the website on their mobile/cell. Yahoo have made a custom package for iPhone users, so if you have a iPhone and go to the mobile version of the site you will have great access to features like weather, stocks, mail etc.

A lot of other sites have done this, such as Google, so it was expected that Yahoo would do the same, and it looks really nice and it’s easy to use.

The LiveSpeakR is a nice little speaker that sites nicely behind the iPod Touch to provide a very nice sound booster. The speaker uses a feature that a lot of other iPod attachments don’t, it connects via a USB port. It also has RF protection so your phone won’t interfere with the speakers.It is estimated to be officially released around late summer, at this time, no price has been set.
